The name derives from the nearby golf courses, and the place is an attempt by Woolworths to wring more value out of their new Masters hardware store chain. Yawn.
The nearby corner of Warrigal Rd and Centre Rd is a shabby favorite of mine. It features a bus depot, a piano store, a home brew shop and a slew of fast food joints, none of which are as good as the Red Barn that used to be there years ago:

Is on the site of a sand quarry. & has only increased the traffic on what was already a busy intersection. Don't remember a Red Barn ever being there.
ReplyDeleteI remember the Red Barn there well, I think the same building was later used for McDonalds before being demolished and a new McDonalds was built. Next door was a Total or Ampol petrol station where the car wash is now, opposite was an Esso where buses are parked these days.
